TRIBUTE June 30 2009 Music
Back in college, I used to have a roommate named Carlo (c+locious) who was so dedicated to music. When I’d be watching a foreign film, he’d be making beats with his drum kit in the next room. He actually taught me how to play. When I would walk downstairs, I’d see him on the piano trying to perfect the melody of Mary J. Blige’s “I Love You” to play back on his Nokia phone. It’s no surprise that Carlo has continued to produce music, as well as the hip hop group, Broken Dreams, based out of San Diego. One of his major influences was Michael Jackson, and he is undoubtedly affected by the news of his passing. But Carlo did what he does best to ease the situation. He created the tribute joint below. I’ve heard a lot of mixes on the radio these last few days, but his has got to be my favorite. It’s 5 minutes of pure win.
