PRESSED June 30 2011
On the bottom floor of Hold Up Art are pieces for “Pressed” - an exhibition exploring the world of silkscreen processed art. I know a thing or two about silkscreening; CA first existed because of silkscreened t-shirts. I sometimes forget, though, that the process can be translated into other things like art reproductions, street signs, and stickers. Pressed highlights the southern California printing scene and the different printing styles that have become popular by artists like Arkiv and David Flores. Here’s some coverage.
