FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY June 13 2009
I've had late nights every day this week. Since the new site launched, I've been trying to catch up on a ton of 'action items'. Blame that and the Lakers. The weekend will prove to be no different, so I took Friday night to unwind. I've learned that having nothing to do is actually a beautiful thing.
First order of business was to take a long walk with my two shepherd mixes, Hustler and Kaia.
Then, I read. I try to read as much as I can, but I will admit that I end up falling asleep. Not because of the content, but because I tend to start something when I'm too exhausted. I haven't kept up with the bestsellers, so I picked one from my library. Locas is a brilliant account of two women living the East LA gang life. Sometimes I had to remind myself that I was reading fiction.
Throw in a Tai Chi session and also dinner with my mom, and then I finally ended the night watching one of my favorite movies, "Little Giants". I have a habit of of tivo-ing reruns, because I only watch TV right before bed. I do that because reruns don't require me to be too engaged. I've seen the same Friends, Fresh Prince, Saved by the Bell, and Grey's episodes so many times. But I was in the mood for the true underdog story. Icebox is my hero.
