DWELL July 15 2009
Yesterday on my twitter, I posted that I was in need of creative inspiration. Glen (Rhythm Natives) responded with his source of inspiration: Dwell. Dwell is an architectural print magazine with a bad ass accompanying website. So I took his advice, and I haven’t been able to get off the bad-ass-ness. I love modern architecture, so I’ve been having a field day with this. I memorize residential spots in LA where a home has caught my eye. Silverlake (specifically Maltman Ave.) and Santa Monica (specifically Federal Ave.) are my two favorite cities for this kind of stuff.

Dwell takes my simple vagabonding and multiplies it by 100. They’ve featured hundreds of homes on their site, all worth seeing. But my favorite part on their site is “Places”. They do the work for you and list the top design places to see. I’ll be doing lots of traveling before the year is over, so this comes in handy. Especially when there isn’t much time to explore on your own. I first looked up Los Angeles, and realized that I am missing out. (Undefeated is one of them.)
Glen’s advice worked, and I found a new website to add to my list. And just for fun, this is one of the houses I like in Santa Monica. I pass it everyday.
