As mentioned below, Beatrock in Long Beach is now stocked with CA gear. We spent the afternoon hanging with Dave, Vennie, and Laurie at the shop shootin' the shit about college life, cultural brands, collaborations, tattoos, history, parental discipline, and traffic. We even did a couple celebratory shots. CA is real blessed to be working with a great team and a great brand. And if you're not doing anything tonight, they've got an opening reception for a new art installation. Musical guests include Bambu and The Committee.

I've been dropping clues here and there about our upcoming relationship with Backside in Downtown Burbank. I've been going to this store since I was in high school, when it was strictly about records. They had the best collection of music, and even had in store performances with (now) big names like Linkin Park. They have since expanded their presence to include clothing, carrying brands like Obey, Freshjive, Upper Playground, and Mama.Late this week, we met with the co-owner of the store, Eric, who offered a lot of insight for Chicharon Adventures. We were treated with information about the industry - what works and what doesn't, the effects of our shitty economy, beefin' brands, and strategies.
Our night ended in a partnership. Backside will carry CA by the new year. As a start, they'll be stocked with our new crewnecks, which will hit the online store on Friday, December 12. As always, we'll keep you posted.

AND THE BEAT GOES ON November 23 2008
As mentioned earlier, we were in Long Beach yesterday to meet with Dave and check out his store, Beatrock. Five years ago, Dave created a graphic tee brand that respected life - our roots, our culture, and our history. Designs went off the idea that everyone has their own "beat to rock". Since then, Beatrock has been sold here in Cali, Hawaii, New York, France, and Taiwan. Then late last month, Norse Street in LB became its home. Dave and his wife, Vennie, run the shop that is partially an art space. Each wall has various art pieces on it (installations will change every month). And on the ground floor is an array of independent clothing brands.Dave became a fan of Chicharon Adventures when he saw the Make Chicharon Not War t-shirt. He contacted us and after exchanging inception stories and advertising strategies, we begin a positive friendship rooted in our love for culture. Sooner than later, Norse Street will also be graced with our t-shirts.
