AFTER HOURS

Posted by: triciaCA

Nov 08

I've been insanely busy at the office, hence the lack of 'interesting' blog entries. So last night after work, I decided to unwind with a solo skateboard session. The parking lot of my building empties out around 7pm--prime time to go up and down the ramp and mosey around. I wish I could've taken better pictures, but it's kind of hard when you're by yourself. All the photos look like I'm just standing on the board. But whatever; it is what it is.

VALLEY'S FINEST

Picking up purple shoelaces has been on my 'to do' list for about a week now. And there's only one place I go to get them: Valley Skate & Surf. It's a mom and pop establishment that has been around for 30 years. I've been going to this place for about 10 - ever since I made the shift from North Hollywood to North Hills. Though I haven't been skating too much, I still manage to check out the shop once in awhile.

GO SKATE

Posted by: triciaCA

Jun 22

Today is Go Skateboarding Day. Face the heat, and go skate!

It seems fitting to dedicate today's post to one of the original CA team members who passed away this past February - my cousin, Fed. He was an amazing skater, and after years of putting aside his talent, he got back into it after purchasing a Ray Barbee deck late last year. Fed rekindled my love for skateboarding. After an accident that left me with chipped front teeth and a crooked pinky, I quit. He encouraged me to get back into it. I will keep on riding, but this time on HIS deck. Here he is, circa 1987, handplanting on the streets of Pasadena (notice the Vision Streetwear tee).

I miss you.
