TERRITORY

Earlier this week, Chicharon Adventures was invited to the Manny Pacquaio Dream Match After Fight Party mixer in the valley. See, after the fight on December 6, Rum Jungle (Mandalay Bay) will play host to the Pacman, friends, and fans for the official celebration. The mixer was sort of pre all of this. Get to know the organizers, other companies involved in sponsorship, and new peeps. I've been under the weather the last few days and Friday wasn't an exception. We went pretty early and found that the mixer lacked a crowd. We left and killed time with hopes to return to the event. But I just couldn't hang anymore, and neither could Cokoy who was feeling just as shitty. So we improvised.

All the posts this week seem to be about our friends. And who am I to change that trend? Tonight our boys, Rhythm Natives, are playing at The Derby in Los Feliz. It's their last show of 2008, so you should get out there for some good vibes. The next time I post about them will be when our collaboration tee releases. Look out!

eLa, our marketing person in the Northwest region, is performing tonight in Seattle. If you're in the area, you must check her out. Geography has me missin' out on a lot of her shit, but she's kept me updated on her latest writing. As always, the words/verses/rhymes are intriguing.

We were in Hollywood yesterday to have dinner and watch a show with some friends. We decided to get to the area a little early and finally check out the Nike Sportswear shop at the historic Montalban theater on Vine St. Upon entrance, we were treated with a private tour. If you haven't been around to see the shop, you're missin' out. It's fully stocked with NSW gear, an ID studio that you can see on the big screen, and a mini art gallery for kids.

Upstairs at the ID studio. Seats in the theater were lined up with blank Air Force 1s, Air Max 90s, and Dunks of all sizes.

These cased shoes are all up for auction on ebay. Proceeds help fund the mini gallery. Some lucky ones have already been able to design their own Air Force 1s--not thru the ID studio--but by hand with the help of prominent Nike designers.

I'm convinced that one of the kids is a CA fan.

Also in the gallery is a small exhibit (no pun intented) by Adele Lack. You have to use a magnifying glass to check out the pieces. Their only like 1" x 1".

And finally, our gracious host Ashley (right) and her associate Reesy. Thanks for a good afternoon.

Oh and I left the store with these:
