Fükü December 30 2011
I was driving down Cahuenga one afternoon when I saw a crowd gathering around a spot called Fükü Burger. I figured it was just the happy hour crowd, or the inviting open patio with red lights. When I came home, I looked into it a bit. Fükü was originally a food truck (it still is) that roamed the streets of Las Vegas and then took its success to Hollywood as an actual restaurant. They served Japanese style burgers, very addicting fries, and good beer. Killer combination, so I went for myself. And it was really good. I was telling someone this was the year of the burger. I’m glad to have rounded out 2011 with Fükü‘s Tamago burger (patty, crispy onions, teriyaki sauce, wasabi mayo, and fried egg). I’m even more glad to have paired it with their Jazz Garlic Fries that are drizzled in brown gravy and wasabi sauce. Japanese style poutine, say what?

BEST TRAVEL PICS 2011 December 27 2011
I unfortunately did not travel much in the last 12 months. I generally stayed on the West Coast. I explored Los Angeles more, I did the bay area a few times, rediscovered San Diego, hit Seattle and then Vancouver. Here are some of my favorite pics.
LA (I know these don’t necessarily classify as “travel” pics, but whatever):
