ONE FINE DAY September 6 2011
I didn’t bring my camera around most of this Labor Day weekend (hence the blog break), but I was back in San Francisco for a family affair. Some of the crew accompanied me on the trip that started with the drive north, and ended with a thousand things to recap. It was that Sunday, though, that really did it for me. After a night out, we spent it just walking around. We lunched in Chinatown, tried to get ourselves to Haight and/or SFMOMA, ended up laying in the Yerba Buena Gardens, and then dined at the Ferry Building. At 29, I’m now learning how to relax. Between CA, Rick & Ray, Backside, and Soul Assassins, I have a lot going on. I always feel the need to keep moving and stay in control. But that day, I somehow found myself with no plans and simply going with the flow. It was dope! So to all my hustlers out there, take time and allow yourself to let go.

THE BASEMENT September 2 2011
I had a meeting over at The Basement 818 - the valley’s spot for all things graffiti art. The store is going through construction, and preparing for a grand opening that will surely put 818 on the map for housing a space that integrates streetwear with art and hip hop. Although it’s not completely done, doors are open right now, and you’ll mostly find kids coming in and out of there wanting to purchase art supplies and even learn more about the craft. This is how it looks right now. It’s looking like mid September for the grand opening, which will offer DJs, live art, and special appearances. Great one eight, stand up.
