THE CONSTRUCTION July 3 2010

I’m a little late on this, but our friends, Double Dosage, dropped their free mixtape last week. Download it HERE. They’ll be on our e-zine this month, too.

PATTERNS July 2 2010

I’m really feelin’ the patterns I’ve been seeing in streetwear for upcoming seasons. I wonder if Sunday Print Co can screen something like this on tees for us…

MOLLY’S July 1 2010

In between the recently developed Sunset and Vine complex and Nike’s Montalban Theater shop is an old school burger joint called Molly’s. It’s totally LA - hole in the wall spot, run by Koreans, with a Mexican line cook, that serves American burgers, fries, hot dogs, burritos, and…bulgogi. As much as I’m in the Hollywood area, I’ve never stopped in. Until last week. I had the spicy pork bulgogi and my friends had burgers, all for less than 20 bucks, and all pretty good.

I was surprised to hear on the news yesterday that after 80 years Molly’s may be closing. A redevelopment agency has acquired the land and is planning to turn it into an eight-story office building. Molly’s legal team along with Los Angeles preservationists are trying to block the sale, as it has become a cultural landmark. Even though I’ve only eaten there once, I would hate to see it go. It’s reminiscent of mid-20th century Hollywood, and one of the few old things left on the block. Save Molly’s!!
