SOPHOMORE YEAR October 6 2009
I have been trying to use Facebook to publish this event, but it has been my enemy this morning. I created the event twice, only for it to be canceled…

JTabije held us down with this flyer. He knew that music was influential to our growth in the second year, and used that as the foundation for design. If you remember, he did our Revolution tee. That was last year; meaning that another one is long overdue.
CA’s 2 year anniversary is this Sunday, October 11 at Verdugo Park. It’s the same place as our one year BBQ. Football, basketball, kickball, and food (provided by The Parks Finest). See ya.

THE RESISTANCE October 5 2009
I’m supposed to be waiting another week to hand this out, but I can’t wait anymore.
Because music was huge for the brand this year (Rhythm Natives, The Big Pill, Christine Alane), it made sense to give CD mixes to guest of our two year anniversary BBQ. So I asked our long time supporter and friend, MTRLSTC, to hold us down. He came back with an electro hip-hop mix that’s - to put it simply - the business. Share it, tweet it, blog it, facebook it, whatever. Most of all, just enjoy it. DOWNLOAD IT HERE.

CLOSET TREASURES October 2 2009
One way people have been helping the Philippines is by donating canned goods and clothes. Many establishments across the Los Angeles area have become collection centers, promising to send the items on a daily basis. Earlier this week, Boj started to go through his closet and gather items to send. If you’re following him on Twitter, you would have got a glimpse of what he found. If you’re not following him on Twitter, then lucky you - I’ve pulled every picture he tweeted and posted it here. Just for you. It’s interesting to see the evolution of streetwear design…
1) Plain Gravy‘s controversial t-shirt. From what I understand, The Hundreds got heat for this, and they didn’t even release it.

2) Clientele NYC Mike Cement Tee.

3) Boj’s first Stussy shirt. Look at that bubble font! I told him that I got my first Stussy in 1990. The text on that cream colored shirt read “Emancipate yourself from mental slavery”. Bob Marley, wordemup.

4) Bapesta.

5) I saved the best for last. Freshjive‘s “West Saheed”.

VALLEY WEDNESDAY October 1 2009
My night started like this - at Kyushu Ramen with some of the wolfpack. We are commissioning them to donate beverages to the CA 2 Year bbq, and what better way to do that than over good eats and good beer. It was my first time trying Orion, and I can honestly tell you I’m in love.

After dinner, I was talking with Bojo who wanted to check out a vista point at the top of Topanga. So we made the trek up the hills and took in an amazing night view of the valley. The plan was to take photos, but because it was so dark out and we were tripod-less, our shots came out blurry. We then made our way to the Warner Center , and then to the De Soto Pharmacy - an old fixture in the East Valley. But their signature aqua lights were off, and we were forced to settle for the parking lot lights. Figures, by the time we got there it was like 130am.

Impromptu valley nights for the win..,Happy October.
