IN GOOD COMPANY July 2 2009
Family time is the best time, especially in DTLA when eating Kogi and drinking Bailey’s on the roof are involved.
I’m highly considering doing some kind of CA event on that roof. It may be too small of an area for the two year, so maybe my birthday…Speaking of birthdays, sorry I missed out on the sisig and mocha crunch cake, Boj! I hope you had a great one.

MORE THAN WAFFLES July 1 2009
I’ve always chosen Cici’s Cafe to be my weekend brunch spot. In our best of 2008 series, it was my favorite place to eat, especially cuz of their pancakes. But little did I know that I would be so hassled for choosing a place like that. Just a mile or two east of Cici’s is another breakfast joint called More than Waffles that the Rhythm Natives so strongly advocate - particularly Jon (KreativeThought). We’ve had many a conversation about which place is better. Neither of us gave in, until this past weekend. After a successful night at Soul Sessions, Jon, Ivy, and I decided to have breakfast there.
And here I am, publicly admitting that I was wrong about it. They get points for larger restaurant size, simple menu, outdoor seating, live music, and of course, waffles. I keep it safe at Cici’s, generally ordering the same thing. But I can see myself venturing out a bit at More than Waffles.
