STACKED April 30 2009
I managed to sneak away and pick up our stickers from Sunday. My original plan was to meet with Chris (CIELL Cycling) and hang with him, Tim, and Paul, but things don't always go as planned. We ran out of our first order pretty fast with hundreds of them going to World of Dance, Beatrock, Rhythm Natives, et al. So here they are again in all their glory.

I AIN’T GONNA LIE April 29 2009
I really don't have much to blog about. Kim and I have been focused on our upcoming project - we're still in stealth mode - and haven't been doing anything else but that. We haven't met with people we were supposed to meet with (my apologies to Chooboy, Miasco, Tavi, DJ Duel, and GEK), we haven't picked up our new stickers from Sunday, I haven't even been able to walk Kaia and Hustler. But that's life. So I've decided to make this post more of a reminder. In addition to that upcoming project, we've got two big things happening within the next week. Join us.We'll be vendors at Sneaker Pimps this Friday, May 1 at the Vanguard in Hollywood. I have been going to these shows for years, so I'm really happy that CA is a part of it.

And of course, we have our first produced show with The Big Pill on Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8. That's two nights to get funked.
LOS AWESOME April 28 2009 Los Angeles
My friend Elaine shared this picture of a billboard seen on the 101 past the Rampart ramp.
Don't the graphics kind of remind you of 80s surf tees from Maui & Sons or T & C Surf (at least the shark does)? I'd have to agree with this billboard; Los Angeles IS awesome. And soon enough, we're going to be interviewing some of its residents to prove it. Ya heard?
DIRTY LITTLE SECRET April 27 2009
I spent another beautiful day driving south, but this time to Disneyland. I know I've posted a couple times about how I love Disneyland, how I'm forever young, how my favorite rides are Midway Mania and Peter Pan's Flight, blah, blah, blah. Now I'm faced with the task of switching up the topic, while still keeping it real about the happiest place on Earth. So I'll let you in on a secret. One of the other reasons why I keep going back - thank baby Jesus for annual passes - is that I collect Disney pins. I haven't felt so involved in collecting since the pog days, and spend a good chunk of my time at the parks looking for people to trade with. It's quite a fascinating, albeit expensive, activity. I'm not going to turn this post into a how to entry or a what is one; I'm just going to confirm that I'm a bigger geek (and kid) than I originally thought. But basically, Disney sells pins that you trade. You can trade with other patrons or you can trade with the employees. The latter is much better because they are required to take what you deem as a piece of shit pin and upgrade to a better one.
Since I jumped on the bandwagon, I've been collecting Disney x Star Wars, characters from my favorite movies, stuff from my childhood, and anything I think worthy of my pin lanyard. Yesterday, Kim came up on a really good one. My personal CA x Disney dream just got this much more attainable.
See the resemblance?

And here's some of my collection. Huey, Dewey, and Louie in the house.

LONG BEACH AFTERNOON April 25 2009
It was a beautiful day in LA yesterday...We made the trek down to the LBC to stock Beatrock with our Spring 09 tees and for "Because Your Mama Said So" - a group art show dedicated to childhood idol, Mr. T. In addition to the opening art reception, Dave and Vennie also hosted the EP release party for the Bambu x Fatgums collaboration, "A Peaceful Riot".

Bigups to Beatrock for another successful and positive event. Stay tuned for our collab with Beatrock releasing this summer, and also a collab with Bambu.
