GLUTTONOUS February 25 2009
I quietly celebrated Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday in the comfort of my parents' home last night. I've been pretty busy with our new tees releasing next week, as well as our e-zine slated to launch mid-March. I was surprised that my dad cooked steamed fish for the occasion. I requested some meat, and then washed it down with the Philippines' finest beverage.

WALL TO WALL February 24 2009 Los Angeles
I recently came across a Flickr account entitled "The Golden Age of Gang Graffiti". Given my unusual obsession with gang culture, I was intrigued by the photos. I started to research more about where they came from, time period, etc. Turns out they were all taken by Howard Gribble who focused on Chicano graffiti in the early 70s, in Los Angeles, when spray paint became the new Twist. At the time, NYC was the main stage for street art; subways were emerging with 3D art and characters. But Los Angeles was different; the movement was defined by placas that listed the names of gangs and its members. It's really interesting to go through all the photos and read about the history. Gribble does a solid job at explaining origins and writing style. I rarely see the kind of art he photographed anymore. I guess that's testament to evolution.

CORALINE February 23 2009
I've been talking about Coraline nonstop since I saw it last weekend. It really is a visual masterpiece, especially in 3D. After seeing it, I went home and played on the website. I think it's just as awesome as the movie. Not only can you enter to win an exlusive pair of Nikes, but you get to do this kind of shit:Tweet
