MAKING MY ROUNDS February 28 2009 Collabs & Events & Music
I started in Irvine for the Rhythm Natives show and the official release of our collab tee.

Bambu gave a lecture for the event on the Filipino-American hiphop experience.

Then I drove up to Long Beach to hang with Dave and Ven at Beatrock. Much to my surprise, Pro People Youth was there hosting a leadership workshop to both high school and college youth. Today's topic was public speaking.

Dave and I briefly spoke about our upcoming collaboration. We're still in the conceptualizing phase.

I ended the night in Garden Grove with RED8. But I'll tell you about that another time.

CA x RN February 28 2009 CA New Releases & Collabs
Introducing our first collab tee with the Rhythm Natives.

The Rhythm Natives are performing today at UCIrvine. These tees will be available at the event. Beatrock and Eagle Rock Underground will also carry these tees. But these will not be online. You have to either visit one of those stores, or watch a Rhythm Natives show. Don't sleep.

RENT February 27 2009 Los Angeles & Music
Before I became part owner of Chicharon Adventures, before I graduated from USC, before I was a marketing manager at an adult entertainment company, I was really into theater. And I still am. After high school, I thought I'd end up in that industry but things change. I understand that this post may not bode well with 'street culture', but I don't care. Around here, we do things the way we want, and soon enough we'll align two worlds that rarely meet.Last night, RENT opened at the Pantages for a brief two week run. RENT defined my generation; it's a musical about friendship, struggle, death, and love - all in epic proportions. Kim, Cokoy, and I rolled to Hollywood to catch it. We're still reeling from an amazing night. I wish I could share our experience with photos, but Pantages has some serious nazi ushers. Enjoy some randoms, and then see it for yourself.

This ventriloquist was on the corner of Hollywood and Argyle. He was really loud and he was talking all kinds of nonsense. I asked to take a picture of him, and he answered by pointing to his empty box mid-nonsense.

This quartet has been hanging around the theater for months now. Completely acapella, they grace patrons with old school tunes from groups like Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Temptations, and The Isley Brothers.

Smokers at intermission.

The ushers couldn't stop me this time.

The attendant at the parking lot had the cutest pitbull puppy. Her name was "Princess".

THIS IS LOS ANGELES February 26 2009 Art & Los Angeles
For the rest of this month, SURU on Melrose Ave is host to Estevan Oriol's photo exhibit called "This is Los Angeles". It was pretty amazing, especially the moving display. In my opinion, no one captures raw emotion like Oriol.

RARITY February 25 2009 Los Angeles
I have to blog about this.I'm not a Clipper fan, but they just beat the Celtics, 93-92. The West's number 13 team beat the East's number 2 team. And I'm all LOLs right now.
