GIVING THANKS November 27 2008

My family's Thanksgiving dinner isn't until later this evening, so me and my parents had to fend for ourselves. We went with the easy route. Introducing Thanksgiving lunch - El Pollo Loco and beer.

Cokoy hooked me up with a mixed 6 pack of beers for my birthday. I finally took it out of the fridge to complement the poultry. A few of my favorites are in there like Red Stripe and Pyramid Hefeweizen. She also threw in some randoms in there like this nectar ale. But the "Genesis Ale" takes the cake.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM ALL OF US AT CHICHARON ADVENTURES!!

HUMP DAY November 26 2008

I can't think of a better title.

And really, I only have two pictures to share from my Wednesday evening.

Everytime I go to Starbucks - which is often - my name gets spelled wrong. There's the standard "Trisha", or "Tisha", or "Treta", or "Tretia", or "Chicha". One time, this barista even wrote "Trash" on my venti iced black tea. I just had to share that finally someone got it right. I was ecstatic, because seriously it's not that hard. And to whoever your name is, you are my favorite employee.

On to the next.

When we were driving back, Cokoy remembered to show me something that she still had on her cell phone. I thought it was going to be some stupid inside joke that we had months ago. Though I'm sure that would have made me laugh, what she showed me was even better. It was from 2007 when the Chicharon Adventures wheels just started getting into motion.

Pretty cooool.

CONCEPTUALIZE November 25 2008

My mind has been inundated with thoughts of the 2nd annual Love, Life, Hope t-shirt. Quite possibly our most important release of this season, and we haven't finalized anything yet. (Can you tell we run things unconventionally?) We don't know if we'll go with something simple like last year or something graphically rich. I have several designs to review, but we're not sold on any of them. Thankfully I had previous plans with Gerard for dinner last night. Though it was a nice break, I did find myself talking out the design with him. We also spent a good amount of time catching up. He even told me that Nike will be coming out with a "PAC KNOWS" t-shirt. A graphic artist himself, he was able to offer insight on what we are currently working on. And even better, he offered his time to do some sketches. Can't wait! Here's Gerard going incognito.

Now back to work...

SHOOTIN’ THE ISH November 25 2008 Events

I got an email from our friend, Matt (bassist for Rhythm Natives), who wanted to pick my brain about CA. I've known Matt well before the band and the brand started. We knew each other back in high school and we even did a semester together in Santa Monica. We reconnected through our respective business ventures, and agreed that a Monday night chat at the neighborhood Starbucks was a good spot. It was nice to sit with him in a quieter setting since we normally see each other during their performances.

We talked collaborations, networking contacts, strategies, corporations, hip hop, moving forward, websites, lifestyle, past mistakes, and old friends. By the end of it all, we knew the momentum was building. And that's a great feeling.
