Me and some friends had our own little field trip this afternoon to Downtown LA. We originally went for the Upper Playground/Mr Cartoon/Estevan Oriol store openings, but we also ended up at Blends for their little skate exhibit, Comme de Garcons for their guerilla store, and RIF LA for some shoes (whatup, MTRLSTC!). A wrong turn led us to an alley with these signs: Upper Playground LA: Mr Cartoon: (the coolest shoe display I've ever seen) Estevan Oriol: Blends: Comme de Garcons: I stopped taking pics after that. All in all, it was a good day ending with dinner at Midori. Thanks for coming with, guys.
Despite all the things to do on an LA Thursday (see below), I decided to go home instead. I was greeted by my dad's famous beef steak paired with fresh melon juice. Homecooked meals are my favorite...My dad might as well be a chef; he conquers our kitchen quite well. The Lakers also came home tonight and dethroned the Spurs to become Western Conference champs. Now on to the next victim, and as Jerry West said, "Let's win another four games." Will it be Boston?? *Lakers photos courtesy of NBAE/Getty Images
Today has proven to be quite busy. There are couple things going down tonight, but all I can seem to think about are the Lakers. So if you're free, hit these things up: MightyMic representing at UCLA for Genocide Awareness Week. Good cause and good music.
Hump day this week was a good one. Some of us visited the Westside today, checking out an art show, enjoying the nice Santa Monica breeze, and eating some good food.
I have this, the CA x Nintendo DS collab: But I'd love this, the Mario x Milo collab in gold:
